Life always gives us an opportunity that, if we can use it well, it will serve us. I believe that I became a founding member of this magazine for a reason.
G. F.: -In which city do you live, and what is the musical opportunity over there?
Mindtricz: Me (Joel) and Jonathan are from a small town, Netherlands near Rotterdam. Steroman is French, he lives in Paris.
According the musical opportunity, in Holland there are a lot of big artists born like:’Afro Jack, Laidback Luke, Armin van Buuren, Nicky Romero and many more, so it is really hard to make your music ‘stand out’ with this big names.
However, Paris is a bit easier, because Paris is the city of love, and music equals love.

G. F.: -Did you co-invent the name of your band?
Mindtricz: Yes, we invented this name together.

G. F.: -For those not so up-to-date in the music world, EDM means Electronic Dance Music?

Mindtricz: EDM or Electronic Dance Music is made in a DAW. The DAW is a software to make music, like:’fl studio, ableton and Logic pro. The nice thing about DAW is that you just need one person to make a track.

G. F.: – Have you been playing EDM music from the beginning, or were you in need of it on the go, and did you fell in love with this trend?

Mindtricz: We always liked EDM music, and we were never looking for new music. We just followed the music that was popular at that time, which has changed in 2015, when we got deeper into EDM. And also found a lot of unknown(underground) music. That was really cool, because we have found so many good artists from that moment on!

G. F.: – Who’s the composer, who’s the lyricist on the team?
Mindtricz: Roman Cacitti is our vocalist, and composer he is the one who mixing and mastering our tracks.
Jonathan Heuvelman is our DJ, composer and songwriter.
Joel Blok is a composer, and he is also mixing the tracks.

G. F.: -What kind of music education do you have? Have you all been playing music since your childhood?
Mindtricz: I played saxophone in my childhood, and as I know best Jonathan have tried some instruments but he never find the one which most suited him till Fl studio.

G. F.: -Who plays on any instrument?
Mindtricz: As I mentioned above, we use the Fl studio program to make our music. But I have to mention here Steroman who is playing a bass, and everything else is made by Fl studio.

G.F.: – Who or what is your inspiration?
Mindtricz: I have to take a little bypass to talk about our inspirations, as it is very important when a band is formed.
Mindtricz: The inspiration of Jonathan is Nicky Romero and Avicii, who are both really special. Avicii always brings music which is really touching people and that is something that every musician wishes when they making music. About Nicky Romero, who is my very favourite as well, he is a good producer. I like Nicky, he is someone who really likes to make music and he doesn’t care about what gig he is making, as long as it is good music. Also, he is a truly great fighter because he has some mental problems, like burnouts and anxiety what is really hard to deal with, and he was so honest about it to his fans.
My inspirations are AU5 (American DJ) and Illenium (Nicholas D. Miller, known professionally as Illenium, is an American musician, DJ, and record producer.), they both made something that touches the soul, and I guess that is a very important thing as a musician.

G. F.: -Do you have a coach?
Mindtricz: Yes, we have Kimberly Hale (a real good and talented artist), who is always there for us, helping us with making our music better and outstanding, she is with us from the very beginning of our career.

G. F.: -What is the biggest thing you Guys have done in music so far?

Mindtricz: We have got our own monthly show at Euromerica Radio, which is really something, and it is something we are really honoured with. Also, overcome our first official release with a record label, we always had dreamed about it and now this moment became real.

G. F.: -How popular are you? Where the public knows you better, from the radio, or more from the shows you attend?
Mindtricz: We are not really hyped or something, but our fan gate is growing every day because we get more and more opportunities! People know us most from the radio. We really would love to play more gigs in clubs, and if we could perform at a festival, many more would know us.

G. F.: – When and how did you meet with Steroman?
Mindtricz: We don’t remember the exact date when we met him, but we found Steroman only a few months ago on a platform that is named Submithub, which is a platform where artists can upload their music to blogs, labels and for other artists to get feedback. We listened Steroman’s demo, and we really liked him, so we get in touch with him on Facebook and since that moment, we made our tracks together.

G. F.: – How many released albums have you made?
Mindtricz: We don’t have any released album, but we have 3 tracks online, which are not officially released by ourselves, and we have some released songs that only are available on YouTube.

G. F.: -Are you a full-time musician or do you have a second job?

Mindtricz: We are both studying, but all the free time we have, we make music, we hope to be a full-time musician in the future!

G. F.: -What are your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve, strive for international recognition, or rather be very popular and successful at home?

Mindtricz: We hope that we can be full time musicians, and have more gigs. We don’t even wish for a real big producer (which would be awesome of course) but if we just could live from our music, that would be great!
We think our biggest dream is a collaboration with some well-known artists like: Nicky Romero and Laidback Luke, and it would be awesome to see the world!

G. F.: -Why do you think that your music is outstanding?

Mindtricz: I guess the lyrics is our biggest thing which separates us from the rest, because we make a bit emo lyrics, about anxiety, depression, difficulty in life. These topics are a bit more unusual in the popular music life, and people don’t like to talk about the sad truth. Our music says less about love, like most of them do.
